How to stay healthy in winter season

In winter, a person gets sick when the immune system is not strong enough. Our body defenses will not work properly because of a lack of activity, body heat and bad weather. In these changing seasons, many diseases like fever, cough, colds, grief, etc. will surround you. The skin becomes dry and hard and your interior body may become weaker. In order to avoid colds and other problems in the winter and to remove the stiffness of the skin, you should be eating foods that strengthen your immune system.

You need to dress properly as well. Your head, feet, and ears play a very important role. So always, keep them warm. At times use side caps instead of skullcaps. In this article, I will do my best to help you with clothes, food and quick remedies, which will assist you in winter.

Food items to consume

1. Orange in the Winter 

Orange is the best citrus fruit to consume in winter. It strengthens the immune system. It assists phagocytes and the T-cells. It’s delicious, at the same time it’s beneficial for health. Daily consumption of orange increases vitamin C in your body, which increases immunity against some microbes. The potassium present in it will protect you from ultraviolet rays (UV). Amino acids help in skin rejuvenation.

2. Beetroot salad in winter

The red beetroot and its leaves will fill your winter salad or soup. Beetroots are rich in phytochemicals and the antioxidants that strengthen your immune system and fights free radicals. This increases white blood cells, so by attacking bad bacteria in your stomach, it helps in the development of good bacteria in your body.

3. Egg to start your winter morning

It’s important to eat eggs during winter. Egg yolks contain calcium and iron and half of the egg contains white protein. The nine essential amino acids present in the egg help your body mechanism. Eggs have vitamins like E, A, B12, and B2.

4. Ginger in the cold

Ginger is used as a hot beverage in winter. Ginger tea is beneficial because it fights cold, cough and blockage in the throat. It reduces the symptoms of swelling and arthritis, which becomes really worse in winter. Ginger helps in improving digestion and assist your skin.

5. Eat Carrots in Winter Season

Carrots have beta-carotene. They are helpful to our body and white blood cells. You can drink soup or you can make a salad from it. They have anti-oxidants and keeps your skin healthy.

Dressing system in winter

1. Dress:

In winter, it’s very important that you cover yourself with warm clothes from head to toe. The best hot clothes for this season are considered the only ones that allow the outside air to not penetrate and help the skin breath.

2. Gloves

If your hands get cold in the winter and you cannot do any work, then you should use wool-woven gloves to avoid this problem. It does not have grooves for different fingers. The thumb remains in one part and the other four fingers stay together. At very cold places, people wear woolen socks over normal socks.

3. Head protection

Many doctors say that if you don’t cover your head in winter, then understand that this is your biggest mistake. Because 80% of the body heat exits through the head. Therefore, to keep the whole body warm, it’s most important that you put a warm wool cap on your head.

4. Scarf 

If you are in some place where snowflakes are a problem, then it’s very important to wear scarves during that time. It covers both the nose and the mouth so that when you breathe out, that part of the scarf gets heated and when you breathe in again, the air gets hot because it passes through the scarf.

5. Bodywarmers

Wear Bodywarmers and black or dark colored clothes. You can use sweaters, jackets and inner sweatshirts.

Quick remedies during winter

Ginger tea

Ginger has many advantages, and it provides great relief from cold and sinus problems. In winter-cold or flu, take fresh grind ginger and add one cup of hot water or milk to it. Boil it and drink it.
Lemon and honey: Use of lemon and honey helps in cold and cough. Drink a teaspoon lemon juice with two teaspoons of honey in a glass of warm water or with hot milk, you will find a great benefit in it.

Garlic

Garlic is very helpful in fighting throat and stomach problems. Garlic has a chemical called Alicen, which is an Anti-Bacterial, Anti-Viral and Anti Fungus. Five pieces of garlic roasted in olive oil or ghee (very less) will help in infections.

Basil or Tulsi leaf

Basil and ginger are considered as enemies for cold. It consumes it to get instant relief. Take five to seven leaves of basil in a cup of hot water. Put a piece of ginger in it too. Boil it for some time and make a decoction. When the water is halfway through boiling, drink it slowly. This recipe is effective for the children.

These tips will make your winter easier but don’t think that this will be enough. We all learn through trial and error and we are all unique, so adapt your actions to your needs.
